OK Jaanu Movie Review by Anupama Chopra: Movie fails to impress

Ok Jaanu by Anupama Chopra

Anupama Chopra reviews state that movie fascinates the college crowd, especially of metro cities. “HummaHumma” song is unable to pull the people who are after the sensible cinema. Let’s take the story first. There is nothing special about the story it’s the same story which we have many times in Bollywood. People fall in love but not sure about the marriage, therefore, decide to move in together. But after the sometimes fight starts to intensify. Same is with “OK Jaanu”.  Adi is an aspiring game designer from Lucknow who dreams of migrating to the US and living the American dream. At a chance encounter during his friend's marriage function, he meets Tara (Shardhaakapoor). She is a newly architecture school graduate working for an architecture firm. She dreams of migrating to Paris (France) to pursue higher education. The cheerful chitchat soon gives way to a conversation where both Adi and Tara understand that they heartily feel that marriage isn't for them and move in together until the time they go their different destination when a career comes calling. With only 10 days left and parting imminent, Adi& Tara are forced to confront some matters of the heart. It is the official remake of south superhit film “O- Knamani” but is not able to spread similar magic.

OK Jaanu Direction, Acting Review

"Ok Jannu" is directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Mani Ratnam and karanJohar. Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson has done their role very well but not adding much to the film. Aditya has tried to show is comic timing but really need to put some more effort for romantic drama. ShraddhaKapur has tried to allure through sexy number and good skin show but it's not convincing in these day when intimate scenes are too common or a part of every second Bollywood movie. Lyrics and dialogues are of Gulzar which definitely leave an impression. And for songs, no one can argue when it's A.R Rahman. It is unfocused a one-time watch but its entire you decision to visit theater on the first day of the movie or not. Wish good luck to “Ok Jaanu.”
